Establishing a smoothly running IT help desk, is an imperative of IT management at tribal organizations. At its best, the help desk anticipates and resolves problems before they affect business; at its worst, this "helpless" desk can subvert the entire IT/business relationship and impede the overall effectiveness and growth of the organization. Attend this webinar to learn more about how your tribal organization can fine tune your help-desk process from issue to resolution.

FCC Holds 7th Indian Telecommunications Initiatives (ITI) Regional Workshop and Roundtable

SALT LAKE CITY, UT
JULY 16-17, 2008
Washington, DC -- The Federal Communications Commission, as part of its Indian Telecommunications Initiatives (ITI), is holding its seventh regional workshop and roundtable in Salt Lake City, UT, on July 16, from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and July 17 from 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM. It will be held at the Indian Walk-in Center, 120 W. 1300 South Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84115.

It will focus on issues pertaining to the Digital Television (DTV) transition and telecommunications development and deployment in Indian Country. A draft topical agenda is attached.

The program is being run in cooperation with the National Tribal Telecommunications Association (NTTA), Native Public Media (NPM), the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), Native American Journalist Association (NAJA), Native Voice One (NV1), Native American Public Telecommunications (NAPT), Utah’s Division of Indian Affairs, and KRCL Radio Free Utah ( 90.9 FM).

This FCC effort is a collaboration and coordination with the American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) community that will feature meaningful discussions and information exchanges on topics of particular interest to the tribes. For example a key focus of ITI Salt Lake City will be to identify and implement effective mechanisms for educating consumers living in tribal areas about the digital television (DTV) transition and making sure that they understand the specific steps that may need to take in order to continue watching free over-the-air television after February 17, 2009. ITI Salt Lake City will also feature information exchanges about effective strategies for the deployment of telecommunications on Tribal lands, particularly in geographically isolated areas and communities.

For more information about the ITI Salt Lake City Workshop, the FCC’s ITI program, or the FCC’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, please contact Shana Barehand, Senior Attorney and Liaison to Tribal Governments at 202-418-0385, shana.barehand@fcc.gov. Updates and further information about the ITI Salt Lake City will also be made available on the FCC’s Tribal Initiatives website at: http://www.fcc.gov/indians.

News from CasinoSoft

Mainstee, Michigan Little River Casino completes their last install with CSS of Title 31. Little River Casino has installed Cage-Trak, Pit-Trak, Promo-Trak and Title 31 to complete their suite of installs with CSS.

This is very exciting for CSS because this makes Little River one of their preimere properties showcasing how well all software modules work together to streamline Little River's casino operations with the use of CSS's software. LRCR is using Promo-Trak in their promotions booth to enroll players fast and efficiently with the driver's license scan, they are managing thier promotions and drawings using bar-codes on their direct mailers and they are getting exact reporting with Promo-Trak.

Cage-Trak has automated all the forms in their cage. Cage now has access to reporting that they never had before.

In the Pit they are using Pit-Trak to rate their players on the fly instead of filling out pit rating cards. This allows for the Pit to award their pit players with real time ratings.

Title 31 has been automated in LRCR's cage and Pit by running an automated MTL that the Pit and Cage can see throughout the gaming day. They have elminated the manual logs they were keeping. Title also allows them to scan in patrons driver's license when they go over the $10,000 mark. Also CTRC's are done automaticly tracked with the program and can be viewed by the back of the house and filed automaticly.

CasinoSoft is proud to announce the completion of this project with Little River Casino and to invite future casinos to schedule a demo to see how anyone of these modules might work in your pit, cage, or promo booth.
