A message from Shannon Bouschor: TribalNet Director/Coordinator

For the last 10 years we have brought you THE annual event that focuses on bringing technology and tribes together. In the early years, TribalNet was merely an idea and had much more of a regional following. Thousands of attendees and exhibitors later, regional quickly became national and TribalNet grew from being just an idea to becoming an enabler to be a better IT leader at tribes and tribal organizations. As we geared up to celebrate the 10th anniversary, 2009 was easily ramping up to potentially be the most challenging year as far as attendance and participation. The economy was taking it's toll on other industry events and budgets were tightening all over. Still, our board and conference organizers remained confident that by putting together and offering such a powerful agenda and speaker line up that we'd draw close to year's past and for those of you who attended this year, you're well aware that we did! We were extremely pleased to be able to share this year's agenda with both loyal participants and new attendees and we didn't see a downturn at all in attendance from tribal organizations. We in fact had more positive comments from both attendees and exhibitors this year than in any year we can remember. In our 2009 highlights pages, we'd like to share some of those positive comments with you and encourage you to login with your conference id and password to view and share conference presentations, view pictures taken throughout the week and download the attendee/exhibitor list so you can reach out to the contacts you made at the event. If you'd like to share any comments with us, please post on or join the TribalNet online community on LinkedIn or you can send us an email at info@tribalnetonline.com.

Thank you for attending this year's conference, we look forward to working with you throughout the upcoming year and seeing you in Reno for TribalNet 11!

"TribalNet is all about building relationships. I've been coming to TribalNet since it began in 2000 and over the past 10 years, these relationships keep growing and becoming stronger. I'm glad to be here to celebrate TribalNet's 10 years of excellence."

"This was my first time at TribalNet and I feel I picked up valuable information. It is good to hear what other tribes are doing with IT."

"The project management workshop was a good hands on class with very useful and memorable techniques."

"I learned how other tribes deal with budgeting and came away with ideas to try at my tribe."

"The most useful thing about the session led by IT leaders was real world examples. They were great presenters."

"I wouldn't have been able to meet all of my peers and have an opportunity like this without TribalNet. Mike Day's vision to bring together IT leaders from a very close-knit and unique community has made a difference in this industry."

"The speaker did a great job of engaging the audience and providing advice on do's and don'ts of grant writing to fund technology projects."

"The range of concerns on several well-discussed and debated challenges on the casino IT executive panel was enlightening."

"The session became interactive and led to great comments and discussions."

"I enjoyed hearing from my peers on how they interact with decision makers within their organization."

"Before TribalNet, no vendors had a vertical for Native American organizations. We are proud to say that with the growth of the conference came the creation of these focused groups at several large corporations. We now have better service and a focus on our unique needs."

"I came away for this session with a lot of new ideas. Good 'hands on' approach."

"All the speakers were knowledgeable and shared a lot of cost savings information that I can bring back to my tribe."

"In order to succeed in the technology industry, you have to be able to understand other tribes' challenges and relate to them. Then, together you can focus on the challenge and find a solution to it. TribalNet is a great way to accomplish challenges and tasks with a strong array of IT leaders. It's a great team!"

"Wonderful first time here- looking forward to next year!"
